Southland BP stations to undergo rebranding

BP is selling 36 of its gas stations, including some in the south and southwest suburbs, as part of an effort to expand its franchised chain of ampm convenience stores. The company said it has hired Chicago-based NRC Realty Advisors to coordinate the sale.

Stations being sold include ones in Flossmoor, Homer Glen, Lockport, Orland Park, Richton Park and South Holland. The stations would continue to sell BP gasoline, but the convenience store portion would be rebranded as ampm.

BP said there are about 1,000 franchisee-owned ampm stores in the western United States as well as about 2,000 in countries such as Brazil and Mexico. The company said it is introducing the ampm brand to eastern U.S. cities, including Chicago, Indianapolis and Pittsburgh.
