    CARY, N.C. -- The Pantry Inc. will expand its portfolio of convenience stores into two new states through the signing of a definitive agreement to acquire 47 stores located in Kansas and Missouri from Presto Convenience Stores LLC.

    "This acquisition expands our geographic footprint and creates new fill-in opportunities for future growth," The Pantry President and Chief Executive Officer Terrance M. Marks said in a statement. The deal marks The Pantry's first venture into both of these states.

Three Genesee County-area developments to put properties on auction block

GENESEE COUNTY, Michigan – Homes, condominiums and lots in three area housing developments are headed for the block as part of a nearly 400-unit metro Detroit auction next month.

NRC Realty Advisors will auction new homes and lots for 20 builders and developers at 10:30 a.m. both Sept. 20 at the Indianwood Golf and Country Club in Lake Orion and Sept. 21 at the Diamond Banquet and Conference Center at the Rock Financial Showplace in Novi.

Eleven condominiums and 11 developed home sites are available in the Sandalwood development in Grand Blanc Township; two houses, 10 developed sites and residential land is available in the Hidden Oaks development in Grand Blanc Township and two houses, six condos and 15 developed sites are available in Fenton Orchards in Fenton Township.

Suggested opening bids are significantly lower than previous asking prices.

A how-to-bid seminar is scheduled at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 8 at the Auburn Hills Marriott Pontiac at Centerpoint in Pontiac and open houses at the to be auctioned sites also will be held at various dates and times dependent on the property.
