SDI Petroleum Selling 12 Stores in South Texas

Source: Convenience Store News

HOUSTON -- SDI Petroleum LLC is selling 12 Texas convenience stores with gas via a "buy one, some or all" sealed bid sale process. Six of the stores for sale are located in Laredo, two are in Brownsville, as well as one site each in Alamo, Donna, Edinburg and Pharr, Texas.

NRC Realty & Capital Advisors LLC is coordinating the bidding process. Interested parties must adhere to a bid deadline of Feb. 20.

"This sale offers some great opportunities for qualified operators," said Dennis Ruben, NRC's executive managing director. "Anyone operating or interested in this market should take a serious look at these sites."

Building sizes of the convenience stores for sale range from 1,090 to 4,000 square feet, with sites ranging from 13,000 square feet to 1.4 acres. Seven locations are being sold with real estate, while five sites will be offered as a leasehold interest. The sites will be sold without a convenience store brand, but will maintain the Shell banner for fuel.

Several convenience store operators, including Susser Holdings Corp. and CST Brands Inc., have stated Texas is a desirable place to operate convenience stores due to a roaring economy and continually rising population figures.

Chicago-based NRC Realty & Capital Advisors provides an array of real estate and financial advisory services to the convenience store and petroleum industries. Clients include 7-Eleven Inc., Sunoco Inc., BP plc and Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. division Circle K.
